Since the launch of Country-pop singer Taylor Swift’s career in 2006 with her debut album, she has made a big mark in the industry. Swift’s career has been smooth with a number of her songs hitting the top of charts. Her 2008 songs Love Story and You Belong with Me have both earned her the number one spot in the Mainstream Top 40 Chart. Depsite a few challenges along the way like the 2009 MTV Musc Awards controversy, Swift has remained much loved by many. In 2009 she was named as the 69th most powerful celebrity in the industry by Forbes Magazine.
Taylor Swift’s success only continues to grow by the day. She recently launched her U.S. music tour entitled Speak Now last May 27-28 in Omaha. She also performed the next day in Des Moines. Much of her performance was inspired by the Broadway shows which she watched at the Wells Fargo Arena as a child. Since then she has had a penchant for performing and her concert showed none the less. An amazing display of lights, effects, set changes and costume changes were all part of the grand show. Of course the whole two hours were also filled with almost non-stop singing.
Taylor’s final rehearsal was turned into a benefit performance for the May 21 tornado victims. They were able to make $750,000 which will be used to help those who were affected by the catastrophe. Swift is scheduled to finish her tour on November. While country concerts have never really been up to par with other music productions, Taylor Swift has changed all that.
